Third, never underestimate the importance of a map. You need to have a map of the area that you want to travel in, which you can usually find online. This can help you plan your itinerary out. You can even draw up your itinerary while you are on the plane or train to your destination! This way, you know where to go even before you get to the place. However, you still need to maintain some flexibility just in case things don't go the way that you plan. This means that you should be aware of any local festivals that might hold up traffic, or issues that might keep you from traveling safely or quickly to any place at your destination of choice.
